This pack comes with a very advanced BMS (battery management system) with Texas Instruments IC inside which protects the pack from damage during charge and discharge. This BMS also has temperature protection to keep the pack from getting too hot. It is a high power BMS which will allow the pack to put out 50amps continuous (2400 watts) and 100 amp bursts (3840 watts) although running this much power will drastically reduce packs life expectancy. so we recommend to not run your battery too hard if you expect it to last over a couple hundred charges.
There are mainly polymer lithium batteries, 18650 lithium ion batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries in the customization of special lithium batteries for robots. The lithium batteries used for different robots vary in size and purpose. LINKAGE has developed and manufactured lithium batteries for many years, and has designed and customized many robot-specific lithium batteries for special application requirements for many robot manufacturers, such as low-temperature lithium batteries for low-temperature operations, high-rate power lithium batteries for power robots, and special dangerous operations Robot battery, etc.
Lithium battery for robot
Let’s take a look at some performance introductions of the special lithium battery for robots produced by the linkage battery:
1. Lithium battery for robots with polymer lithium battery
In some environments, some tasks are not suitable for humans and can be replaced by intelligent robots. However, there are certain requirements for lithium batteries. What about the specific performance?
(1) High discharge performance at low temperature, discharge at 0.2C at -50°C, with an efficiency of more than 60%; at -40°C, discharge at 0.2C, with a discharge capacity of 80%;
(2) Wide operating temperature range, -50°C to 50°C;
(3) Excellent low-temperature cycle performance, charge and discharge at 0.5C at -30°C, and the capacity remains above 85% after 300 cycles;
(4) High safety performance, passed UL/CE/UN certification;
(5) The size is flexible, and can be customized in size and shape according to customer needs;
(6) Compared with the traditional lithium polymer battery, it breaks through the discharge temperature limit of -20℃~60℃.
(7) Capable of mass production and good battery consistency;
(8) Large current can be generated at -50°C and large capacity can be maintained;
(9) It can still maintain its excellent performance in a working environment of -50°C;
(10) It can be widely used in cold climates and military equipment.
(11) Working at room temperature can provide large current discharge with stable discharge from 1C to 75C, providing strong power, and the maximum instantaneous discharge can reach 130C;
2. 18650 lithium ion battery is used as a robot lithium battery
Due to the inherent shortcomings of the 18650 lithium-ion battery, although many robots can be used, it is fixed in terms of dimensions and the same space content is limited, and the battery pack composed of it is too bulky and relatively limited.
3. Robot battery made of lithium iron phosphate battery
Although lithium iron phosphate battery is inferior to polymer lithium battery in energy density and 18650 lithium ion battery in consistency, it is the best in terms of cycle life and high temperature resistance and safety performance. It is also the highest. Therefore, the use of lithium iron phosphate batteries in some robotic applications is also more popular.
There are many types of special lithium batteries for robots. No one is absolutely good. It depends on the specific application requirements of the robot, and then adapt to the appropriate type of robot lithium battery. This is the most ideal choice.
